US photographer Adam Ekberg writes that in "calculated performances that intersect with photography’s documentary potential, I explore ephemeral occurrences. Making such humble events happen is alchemy of sorts, the transformation of the mundane into the poignant."

Alinka Echeverria writes "Fifty five years ago, young men from impoverished rural areas in the highlands of Cuba rose up against the dictator, Batista to join Fidel Castro’s rebel army. They had no weapons, supplies, nor guarantees of survival. Triumph seemed like a distant possibility, yet many claim they had nothing to lose. My project revisits the history of this remarkable revolution through the personal biographies of men, who despite dedicating their lives to their leaders, have remained anonymous and have never held positions of power."

Jill Mead writes "I was born and grew up in North Yorkshire.  My love of photography blossomed from expeditions with my family, taking pictures of abandoned farms on the North York Moors, capturing both beauty and poignancy in their dereliction. Imagining which one I might live in one day. Now I feel incomplete without a camera."

Ron Jude was born in Los Angeles in 1965, grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and currently lives in upstate New York.  He writes about his 'Other Nature' series "The places in these pictures are transitional, and therefore nameless within the standard vocabularies of landscape: between the parking lot and the woods, the train-tracks and the stream, the highway and the field. They exist only as a result of the exigencies and limits of other things and forces."
